DAG'S Soft Node staking mechanism looks as sweet as Cardano.

It is not locked and Coin is still in the wallet. I wonder after the release of State Channel will the mechanism work like that?

Soft node is a staking program, not really a node. HW node is a real node which validate transactions on the network

A mainnet hw node earns more DAG than a softnode. A mainnet hw node also is required to provide their own resources (internet & hw resources OR rental of a virtual machine), required to keep the node up to date and healthy. On average mainnet hw nodes pay approximately $94 usd per month for rental of a VM (virtual machine/virtual computer in simple terms). A softnode doesn't actually perform as a node on the network. Therefore it doesn't require hardware and internet services. Softnode is easy ROI. Set it and forget it (once per month) Mainnet hw node needs maintenance and not as simple to get ROI.
