It is part of governance, you can support the asset, which you think worthy to be community verified of trading section :) Without huge community adoption there is a small opportunity to get community verified status :)

Gotcha, so if I want to trade my token outside this community, it can't be done, at least not verified and I need to set up my own matcher. 👍 Not a problem, wx doesn't want traffic, it won't get it. 🙃

Without verification asset is able for trading in community mode but with community verified status your asset is available in main section on exchange :)

I partly agree that more information may need to be requested while applying for verification, however, as you can see, our Customers are aware of what the project is without such details, and they vote for "Yes". Anyway, it's quite simple to find information about the relevant project (https://wxbooster.com/, for instance). And, as I colleague of mine has already mentioned, any WAVES-based tokens are tradable on Waves.Exchange by default, so it's all about trust and decentralization.
