‌Petrified blood and blood notch combo, still dying to little

I'm about to tear my hair out over this. I tried switching from a defiance of destiny setup to a eyes of the greatwolf with increased quant. I should be crit immune most of the time from stun mastery. I got the energy shield mastery, perfect bloodnotch, high roll immutable force, and 21/20 petrified blood. I even have unfaltering. So if I understand correctly I should be recovering 70% of damage from hits, and 40% should be prevented by petrified blood. What I see is most hits lower my health by a couple hundred, which i regen very quickly with regen and recoup. That means that I get overwhelmed by a lot of small hits that each lower my health by 200-300 until I die. I keep seeing online people saying this combo makes you immune to hit damage essentially. Am I missing something or did I break something in the combo?
