it doesn’t seem like they’re able to apply the tip that I write in on the receipt.
Please let me know how I can adjust this so that I can use this card when I eat at restaurants.
Right now I’m not inclined to use it because they’re not able to add the tip like normal.
What’s the work around?
Have a read over this article. Always leave 20% extra available funds on the card for tip. What the merchant charges plus 20%. https://help.crypto.com/en/articles/4283259-what-are-the-charges-fees-and-limits-associated-with-the-crypto-com-visa-card Hopefully it helps.
That didn’t help. Do you know what I mean when I say that after a meal, the waitress gives you a receipt to sign. Then You write in a tip. That is after the original transaction is complete. Then, the waitress goes back later on that night and adds the tip to the transaction. The CRO debit card is not allowing them to do this. This is my suspicion. I have eaten at three restaurants, and they have not charged me for the tip. I have checked it after a week or more. They don’t charge me for the tip that I write in. Somethings wrong. What’s the workaround? If you don’t know, can you escalate this question? I am currently unable to use this card at restaurants for this reason. I don’t want to stiff the waitresses!
In Canada our system is a little different from this, as it's from the terminal. Let me look into this a little more and see what I can find.
That would be much appreciated thank you
I have asked higher up about this. Normally, when you pay at a restaurant. You're charged an additional 20% just for the tipping. Which should allow the restaurants to charge you the tipping amount. That's what it's designed for. A simple workaround would be to just ask the restaurant to include the tip in the initial bill, and then you get rid of the post-charge tip problem. Regarding about this, I still would you to escalate this to customer service from the crypto.com app and see why their not able to charge the tipping amount. Once you have done this, you may send me a PM with your referral code and I will escalate this for you as well.
I have no use for it if this is the case
Well it’s a pretty good card. It pays you 3% cash back in Crypto, CRO. So just that alone is pretty good. Also it looks like as a workaround, you can ask the waitress to please put the tip in with the charge. I don’t know if that’s gonna be a pain in the ass or watt. Oh well, hope this gets straightened out soon.
