You’ll need ETH to swap USDC and Tether on Ethereum chain. But then you’ll have USDC on Ethereum and you didn’t help yourself anything. You can’t swap across chains.

CRO does exist on three different chains. Native (crypto.org), CRC20 (Cronos) and ERC20. If you want to use Tonic, you need both USDC and CRO on Cronos chain.
