Puzzle on L2 The roadmap for 2023 is *almost* complete and

the important rebalancing update is just around the corner. This update promises a higher yield for Puzzle and ultrastaking. Moreover, during the last 6 months Puzzle Network has proved itself to be one of the centrepieces of DeFi on Waves and the time has come to ask “what’s next?”.

In my opinion, it’s important to keep riding the trends and looks like the next trend on Waves will be the launch of L2, which is actually very promising and launches an entire new market, together with fresh opportunities.

There is an idea to introduce the half-year roadmap to move the core attributes of Puzzle Network to Waves L2 (known as Units Network). Mostly, we are talking about 3 services powered by Puzzle: Megapools, Rome stable and Aggregator. If we move these 3 pieces of the puzzle, we will quickly get a major role on L2, while still keeping our positions on L1.

Moreover, we can launch a separate token on L2 with a working title “Unit Puzzle” (U-Puzzle), which works similarly to Puzzle token: limited supply and fee-earning staking (only on L2! L1 stays as it is and even gets benefits). U-Puzzle token will be beneficial for 3 reasons:

1. As you know PUZZLE on L1 is not supposed to be printed anymore and can’t be used for liquidity mining programs, while it’s important to boost the yield in L2 megapools to quickly take a share of the market. So the plan is to use a part of U-Puzzle to run a liquidity program on L2.

2. I’m very inspired by the success of L2MP launch: people are getting into Waves to buy L2MP and mine UNIT0 later. We will use the same scenario to boost demand on PUZZLE: PUZZLE holders will be able to mine U-Puzzle with a crazy APY which, hopefully, will help the price of our favourite token.

3. It would be good to benefit all the ecosystem participants from the upcoming L2 launch, while the list of participants goes much beyond PUZZLE stakers: we should give access to U-Puzzle mining to Ultra Staking NFTs holders, Pool Owners, Puzzle Market artists and partner projects. It might work as a big airdrop for all the Puzzle Network participants.

Surely, launching our products on L2, which is completely different to Waves L1 tech-wise, is not a simple task, however I estimate it’s possible to be done in a timeframe of 6 months.

Let's say Puzzle builds on Units L2 and releases a U-Puzzle token. If/ /When a polygon L2 chain comes around will Puzzle be issuing a P-Puzzle token on this L2 chain also?
