there any way to receive those messages? Maybe you know why this was done, it's not like bots can spam a channel it has no access to write to? But if no, I think I could talk admins into that

So messaging doesn't look like an option. I think of sharing this bot to other people in trouble, and this does not scale well..

btw, making a userbot is probably best option here, userbot could make a call but it would require you to get second Telegram account

without adding bot to a channel there are two ways: 1. make a userbot, this gets you access to full mtproto api 2. if channel is public, you might be able to scrape its web content. if you open this link in the browser: t.me/s/AboutTheDot you will see that my channel is visible right in the browser
