I am developing a system to validate users with the

new join request events on public groups. The idea:

- User requests to join
- Bot pokes the user in private: Hey are you still interested in joining?: AnotherTime/Yes/No
- If yes the bot will show the rules and ask to press another button to accept those rules.

Now my questions:
What do you think would be a prudent time to auto decline users that don't answer the first question?
5min? 30min? 12h? 24h?
And if they don't accept the rules? should they get banned so that they can't lurk from the outside??

Just give your opinion if you want :)
It's only curiosity about what you would do.

In my opinion , different chats can have different rules . if you are creating a specific bot only for limited chats, maybe 🤔 check with admins of the chat what suits best 😳 if you are asking about a general bot, maybe you should create toggleable options with all the questions that you asked similar to this.

Right! I will ask admins of the groups later. I am just curious what others would do. It's for a specific group and i am not planing on making a generic one.

But also different official applications behave differently with respect to this feature, so you would also need to consider that. 😂🤓
