person has read the article in the pinned message first and has at least basic knowledge about bots before allowing them to write in this chat?
For example, it could be implemented this way:
1. A user requests to join the group
2. Bot automatically approves but gives the user read-only permissions
3. Bot sends them the message with basic information and a quiz
4. After they read the pinned message, they pass the short quiz and receive "write messages" permission
I think it would filter out many stupid questions and people who don't even know basic English, thus significantly simplifying moderation. Because right now, it's just ridiculous, like 80% of the messages are simply useless, being either "how to create a bot" or just random words that don't make any sense because the author has no idea what they are saying.
@dotvhs may I hear your opinion on this idea as well? Because I still think it'd be nice, and I can make such bot for this group if needed
it's something we discussed on potentially doing when we heard about a feature coming to Telegram that allows for public join requests, it's just, you know, requires time to fully plan it out, do thorough tests and potentially implement it once we all agree that this is something that would actually help
Good idea
