Sure gives off those vibes. How would this custom payment

provider even interface with the bot? As far as I know, there is no such thing as third parties being able to create callbacks to a bot. If that was a thing, anyone could abuse the living shit out of it, and practically conduct a denial of service attack.

It's clearly a chatgpt generated text, what makes me sad is that people will believe whatever ChatGPT says instead of just reading the documentation which would take about the same amount of time. And sure, totally don't believe in my answer and go ahead and trust a text generator that tells believable lies with full confidence :D

A bot is just an application. A provider could contact your own API (webhook or something). So it's missing some details, but it's not completely false

The first option is almost completely false, it's made up in 80%. The second one is what i already described before

Telegram does not process those payments, there's no PayPal, and you can't integrate others as you'd want to

I was talking about 2nd part. It's actually exactly how it works, if you try to integrate a provider not supported by Telegram

I agree, it's really sad that people take what a chatbot says at face value. It's an incredible piece of technology, don't get me wrong — but at the end of the day, all it does is predicting what the most likely next valid character in a sentence would be. Given all of the mountains of text it was given when trained, it tries to construct a plausible piece of text. It cannot distinguish between what's true or false. Earlier I saw a post on Reddit of a user which (while smoking grass), got very concerned about AI and how it could alter people's perception of truth. They were talking about how information could be erased, and how people should hoard up on written resources in paper form. I think that's stretching it a bit too much, but there is a point to be made in collective knowledge being altered if it's integrated in search results. If instant answers sound good, most people may well take it at face value and not look further. I think that's where the real danger lies. People are lazy by design (truly exercising the brain takes a lot of energy), so they likely wouldn't look any further. Yesterday it was Wikipedia, tomorrow it'll be instant answers. Both are able to confidently spread misinformation.

It is possible to construct your own API (which would be completely separate from Telegram), that much is true. Getting payment providers to support your in-house API however.. easier said than done, especially when you want to make financial institutions do that. I'd argue that because of this, it's only possible in theory.

well they don't support your API, usually you have to integrate the way they require, but in principle there's not much difference
