stringent for on-topic chat (which admittedly, is not what has been happening tonight, and I'd like to apologize for that). But isn't spam prevention something that's relevant to Telegram as a whole? If it's only relevant to Telegram for Android, what about those who use Telegram Desktop, or those who use Telegram for iOS? To be clear, I'm not trying to advocate for it being appropriate here, more so than it would be there. But perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to create a general off-topic group for all of these chats together?
Bot Talk and Contests groups are both the most strict ones And the general Telegram one we allow on each of the platform chats because we just don't want another chat to do almost the same thing. If topics weren't as confusing for many to use perhaps it all should be just one group. However, for many reasons (including to keep the history of each chat) we aren't doing that. So instead of making the issue even worse by adding yet another chat, it's fine to discuss any Telegram related thing there. I think Android and Desktop chats both have the most active community, that's why i always send people to one of the two.
Interesting, I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for sharing this! I was under the impression that because Android and Desktop Talk are both smaller, that they'd be much less active. Overall, I am active in both this and the aforementioned two groups.. and I have to admit, there are only a handful of truly active members in any of them. Most of them are just passerby's. Perhaps I should discuss issues like this in the Desktop Talk then, I quite like the active members there.
That's the thing, there aren't many members but they are interested and active, you don't need a lot of people to have a good group, in fact more often than not when there are too many active members the group becomes too noisy to be useful. Anyway, let's get back to the Bot Talk :)
