Why am I having this issue with the normal Linux mint?

Do they have a KDE or cinnamon or xfce desktop environment that's like properly supported and all? Or does the desktop environment have nothing to do with drivers and all that

please somebody just help me out and let me get on with life, can i format my encrypted hdd using the normal mint installer?

However, i encrypted my hdd on which Linux is installed during setup, how do I format my HDD so that I can clean reinstall?
