I would not trust it.. “almost ready” does not mean much, Vlidation package was almost ready and worked very well a year ago and yet it still hasn’t been released and looks rewritten/heavily changed now. Just my 2 cents.. Avoid using unreleased Yii3 packages if you can, nobody will guarantee the team will not change their mind again and api will not be changed/packages will not be split again/etc. This risk is not worth taking

If I understand your point of view, but db works fine and if so far the api hasn't changed, i don't think it will.

you think, but you don’t know it, you can’t guarantee it, Yii does not have established “alpha-beta-rc-release” pipeline, the main principle is “we release it when it’s ready” and all I’m trying to say is that it may poses certain risks for a developer if they use an unreleased version and those risks should not be ignored and should be taken into account

You can use db with confidence it hasn't been released, but it's almost ready, not much change in the api, and the package is better than in Yii2
