cumbersome. Are there plans in the future to more easily switch? Context is I'm trying to buy an NFT on luxy, don't have sys in metamask (I use pali) and I'm guessing any non technical person would just have trouble with it due to number of steps. If you guys have specific questions, just hmu in this channel, happy to answer.
2) appreciate the transparency for the transaction being slow on layer 1. That being said, if L2 is everything you guys have promised (I've seen some demonstrations via announcements) with speed and transaction cheapness. Damn. Just damn. Like Will Smith from Men in Black damn
As time goes by,more and more Sys will be moved over so most people don't need to walk the bridge.
First of all, the current Bridge is already an update of the previous Bridge v1 which is a bit more difficult to understand. The new and current Bridge only requires you to connect Pali and Metamask, insert the amount, and pressing a button. Then it will ask for 3 signatures automatically. I don't think it could be easier than this, considering that it is a non-custodial Bridge and that it does not require trust in a centralized service. In addition, as L2 adoption progresses, CEX will add the ability to send to the NEVM (L2) chain, so the Bridge will lose importance since users will rarely require its use. It is also important to remember that Pali Wallet v2 will be released soon, which allows the use of Syscoin UTXO and NEVM in the same application, completely dispensing with Metamask, and therefore using only one wallet application for the entire Syscoin ecosystem. Secondly, as you say, L1 is slow since its purpose is focused on security, settlement layer, consensus, etc. It is L2 that will give the boost to scalability, by being able to perform transactions at an impressive speed "as you have seen in the videos that some users are testing", and with totally ridiculous commissions.
Thanks for the thoughtful response! This is what I like about this project. You guys answer. I havent seen the previous bridge, but yeah, I can see how the current version can't get any easier. It is simple, but not for people like my parents. They need my help to make market buys on coinbase. Sounds like a non issue between Pali 2 and increasing usage on both chains (also stoked about). I'm glad Luxy has slow speed (right now) clearly communicated on the site. Helps manage expectations but also explains things will get MUCH faster soon. You guys are doing great from communication, to managing expectations, to building the ecosystem all in a down market. I look forward to all your hard work coming to fruition.
