collator make more rewards (3x) then a rank 5 collator??
I really get crazy with the staking from Moonriver 🥺🥺
They are both similar. It’s truestaking (Nr 5) and Cosmoon (Nr 41) This doesn’t make any sense
And I have a big share, that’s not the problem. The problem is why they produce so less blocks even it’s a top5 collator?
The chance is ramdom
But such a huge difference? … 🥺 how can you stake properly if you don’t know how to choose right not to miss 200% staking ?! I mean, I could have got 200-300% more rewards now. That’s huge in my eyes
The dashboard shows the performance of the collator in the last round. This page shows the performance of the last two rounds: https://moonbeam-explorer.netlify.app/stats/miners?network=Moonriver
Thank i will check that later on my computer
Over a long period of time (couple of days for example) Collators should have produced more or less the same amount of blocks. If they don't, it means probably that they are not running optimal setup. We are releasing a collator good practices guide soon. But ultimately it is up to the nominators to choose the right collator. I know the tools are limited currently but the network is a month old only 😊
But the problem is. How do you choose a collator? If the rank 5 perform like shit comparing to rank 41, what should you do? Also it impossible to keep track cause you can not Predigt how a collator will perform in the next rounds 🥺 That’s crazy
So what does the ranks mean then?
The rank is ordered by the total stake they have in the system.
Ok. Two more questions if you don’t mind 😅 1. I heard you should not choose someone out of top40 rank or so? 2. Is there any indication which collator to choose?
Rank has nothing to do with performance. In theory, best performing Collators should be the ones getting most of the nominations but this might not be the case
You should choose a collator that is constantly producing blocks and has the lowest total staked amount. Your nomination has to be within the top 100 to receive rewards
What is the easiest way to see if a collator is constantly producing blocks?
Like I said before. Theoretically over longer periods it should be more or less equal. You can check the website I sent to see who produced the most in the last 600 blocks.
