So, I've been thinking about BCH for quite a while

now.

I can't help but think that BCH is destined to up in value over time like BTC.

The halvings, the increase in demand, price going up therefore more miners appear, more hash rate. It's just a self fulfilling prophecy.

Not to mention it's faster and cheaper to transact that BTC.

what am I missing here?

State/banker manipulation. Eternal wildcard

Adoption, people don't use that much P2P on Blockchain, once CBDCs roll out and Monetary Freedom gets restricted, also elimination of physical cash, BCH is there waiting.

Adoption is still very much in the 'gradually' stage.

That's the thing, the only real adoption I have is to send BCH among some mates who are open to the Idea of P2P, but most people are NPCs and Governments wont allow Business to accept Crypto as Payment

You're preaching to the choir, and asking them to argue with you.

True. but bch is miles ahead of any other coin that would try to catch up. As limited as it may seem today, no other self-custody p2p coin has more wallet implementations, more retail adoption, or payment processor support. There’s only maybe 3 comparable peers that could even try to make a run to challenge bch for p2p payment dominance in terms of infra deployment, and even then they would need a couple years of concerted effort and dedicated marketing budget to catch up. A bigger threat than any coin on cmc would be something masterfully rolled out by or partnering with a social. But so far efforts like TON, and whatever that Facebook coin was, turned out to be unthreatening for various reasons. Celebrity pumps affect market cap but pumps don’t code wallets, deploy processors, or peel stickers. Adoption is certainly gradual but still, far ahead.

Nothing. Just the historical reasoning that in the past it has gone down due to censorship and propaganda and network effects, plus internal infighting, but now it has fixed those problems so things have turned around
