There is no timeline on the orchard upgrade. Scroll up a bit to see Forge's latest update. Orchard is an upgraded privacy pool. There are some scalability benefits, but the main upgrade is that it doesn't require the trusted set up Pirate Chain was launched with. Basically 72 people participated in the signing ceremony to launch ZKSnarks privacy protocol. Each participant received keys to launch the protocol, and they destroyed them after the ceremony. Theoretically this means that if all 72 participants colluded, and didn't destroy their keys, they could break the privacy of ZKSnarks. As long as at least 1 of them destroyed their keys, the privacy is secure. Even though it is incredibly unlikely, there is still a small chance all 72 could have colluded. Moving to the Orchard pool removes the trusted setup. So it won't matter whether those original participants were honest or not. It's mostly just a point of FUD that will no longer be relevant. You won't see any difference in how you use Pirate. User experience should be the same.
