you can stake it on polygon too the apr is just kinda meager but i like using it as collateral

It’s not staking but a deposit function and you can use Aave as collateral

whats the difference between staking and depositing?

Стикер

When you stake you deposit into an interest-bearing pool.

Staking consists of depositing your AAVE tokens within the protocol Safety Module. The purpose of staking is to act as a mitigation tool in case of a shortfall event. As an incentive for this, Safety Module stakers will receive Safety Incentives. https://docs.aave.com/faq/migration-and-staking#introduction Deposit consists of depositing your asset ( included Aave ) and earn APY to provide liquidity to Save protocol. You will receive atoken https://aave.com/aTokens/ aTokens holders receive continuous earnings that evolve with market conditions based on: 1/The interest rate payment on loans - depositors share the interests paid by borrowers corresponding to the average borrow rate times the utilisation rate. The higher the utilisation of a reserve the higher the yield for depositors. 2/Flash Loan fees - depositors receive a share of the Flash Loan fees corresponding to .09% of the Flash Loan volume.

thanks! wasn't aware of the existence of the safety module, for me outside of aave (single) staking has always been synonymous with depositing on a farm to earn interest. TIL
