if they have to wait 1 week for their transaction to be confirmed, if they can use ethereum 2.0 with 0.001$ fees and have instant transactions?

you are missing the point. You can take solana as a solution that exists right now. The point is that we are solving the scale issue with blockchains. thats literally what it is all about
