the v1 testnet - so I'm not sure. Hoping others could provide a more informed view on this?
L2F aggr from different protocol on L1s and L2s. And from my experience in the testnet, it abstract the process by simplifying the deposit of liquidity, and allow us to also switch around for higher yield farms easily (and affordably).
There are problems as I saw in the testnet, and also from the product adoption perpective.
1. The deposit and L1 to L2 transaction weren't exactly fast - hours. As I understood it, that's due to the batching interval, and speed increase will depend on volume of tx - more users tx the faster the batch
2. APY problem - this is across all DeFi farms in general, not just L2F - in order to attract people, you'll need reasonbably high APY. And in order to provide confidence, you need reasonably high TVL. It's a chicken and egg problem. So the team will need to figure out a way to attract users to the platform
The adv I see are,
1. providing liquidity is dead simple - just deposit one type of liquidity, and you can easily participate in variety of farms. No need to split asset yourself, i.e., half of CELR, half of USDT - the platform does it for you.
2. For me personally, I got burnt enough from those ridiculous high APY in the past that resulted in either being rugged or bank-run, so what I'm looking for is moderately good APY, and stable asset to protect investment - I think from what I see in v0.1 and v1 testnet - I will be able to get that no prob.
3. cBridge will be part of L2F (or L2F will be part of cBridge) - it would be crazy for that to not happen, and technically it is required if the platform is to allow for migrating/moving between LPs. And if the strategies expands to include more assets, suddenly, L2F+cBridge could become crosschain cSwap - keep in mind that in AMA, Mo indicated that cBridge will be able to bridge to different src-target - that essentially also becomes a payment use case.
Dforce, as I see it from just a glance over the doc, is not capable of the above - but it does support other use cases that L2F+cBridge don't.
Awesome! Tnks
