Will new Halo address be compatible with the former transparent

Its a user experience thing. No addresses will be deprecated. BUT the ZCASH dev team will provide ongoing support for wallet providers and exchanges that switch to the new address format.

Trezor is working on it for the T. Ledger either needs to prioritize adding support to Ledger Live or a wallet needs to add support for the code Zondax built (which still needs to be optimized I believe).

Yeah I know Josh Akira asked me if hardware wallets will implement Unified Addresses not just Z adresses. From what I have followed ledger work that has been done was done for Sappling?

Yes. Ledger work was for Sapling. Tezor for Orchard.

If you want to keep your funds in a transparent address you will be able to continue using it. All people who use hardware wallets have their coins in transparent addresses.
