Haha. You can buy an Nft but not sell it? What?
That's what I thought 🤠
Steam just want you use the system of trade of steam not the blockchain
Ya, that's what I wrote on medium a couple days ago. It's about maintaining control over the secondary market
Yes of course, seem logic
that's so interesting. Steam isn't completely against nfts, they are against reselling games. Those rules are not going to work very well for most game devs. Will they make special, gimped nfts that don't have the standard benefits? I would not cater to their greed.
an NFT with no ownership rights and not openly resellable in a decentralized network is simply not an NFT
Yes this is it. They are against losing control of secondary markets. Ie users selling to users and steam not taking a cut. And devs then interacting with their own users, making secondary markets via a whole host of things. These sort of tools are exactly what ultra offers. The dev can create a whole host of secondary market items - skins, items, art, etc - and promote their users selling it whilst also profiting. Ultra still profits from that in an overall sense but they’re not the gatekeepers demanding an additional X% of all secondary market sales. This model sees the devs and the gamers engage in a win-win. For Steam, they view that as a loss, they lose their total control over the $$ flow.
