Decided to try to provide liquidity. I only got 100

usd on eth, so i wanted to transfer usd to avalance. 30 dollars okay, kinda alot but okay.
Cant do that, cause u need eth for it, and usd is not enough.
Decided to swap usd to eth so I got some eth to transfer. Cant do that cause swapping 100 dollar cost 120 dollar fee.

Like how is mass adoption possible with this? Or am I just a poor boy?

Yeah afraid ETH mainnet still requires the L1 fee's..

The hope is that we lower the fees eventually as eth sharding comes into play and l2s takes away more load from all l1s.

This is indeed the one of the biggest immediate issue with Ethereum L1 now. Which is why there's a huge push to move everything to L2. But unfortunately, the transition will take time due to many reasons, some technical, some economical. Just have a look at ENS domain. I have two domains with ENS, and adding a simple record would cost me between $30-100 depending on the network.

Mass adoption will come, but it won't be an overnight switch, it'll be a gradual transition. As for Celer, I can see Celer is tackling it piece by piece. First to utilise cBridge to connect between different chains, then ease users into DeFi through Layer2Finance. Once there's enough network effect, hopefully by then, SGN will be in full swing with more validators and slashing activated. And thus, all transactions will remain in Celer's state channel blockchain. Still quite a while away yet, as we're not yet at phase 3 of SGN, and looking at the roadmap, phase 4 of SGN is where things will get super interesting.
