Keep in mind, a bear market necessarily means that the

dollar is strong against risk assets. Which is the opposite of the inflation narrative currently. Keep further in mind that for crypto to crash, yields to collapse, and price of BTC to go down against dollars necessarily means dollars are getting stronger in purchasing power. That’s the only time when the price of crypto goes down against the dollar. So ask yourself, if that happens and the inflation narrative is wrong, which stablecoins will people end up using? If FRAX ends up being one of those stablecoins, then we are golden. We must make sure that is the case.

agree. what do you thing would be good indicators of real usage? the first things that come to my mind would be having big volume with fiat usd on cexes, but i think that for regulatory issues hardly any cex would risk to list frax, another indicator may be p2p volume on L2 wallets

I generally tend to not touch "real world" realm of CEXes and centralized assets. Those will come naturally themselves. FRAX should focus entirely on the decentralized/onchain metaverse 💪so the equivalent of that is DAOs using FRAX as a treasury asset like Olympus, Temple, VESQ, Trident, RomeDAO etc and then FRAX being a central routing stablecoin against all others across as many chains as possible. Everywhere if people can bridge FRAX, trade FRAX, and see it as a unifying force, it will be a network effect that would make us indespensable everywhere.

i think its nice having protocols use it as reserve, but kinda disagree because what will those protocols do with their reserves during a bear market when they dont have sufficient income and need more funds? it may be a particular problem i only see with those ohm-style protocols

That's like arguing people might spend dollars when it's a good time to spend dollars so they shouldn't use your dollars 😂

not sure i got that point, but to me it is highly likely those protocols would have to use their reserves -> their supply of frax will be higher than their demand

I'm saying that is a pointless argument to bring up is what I meant. Protocols needing to use their FRAX reserves is the whole point of being a usable stablecoin.
