it accurate to say Cosmos is like the BTC of interoperability, while Ontology is like Eth ?
Ontology really fulfills a different role. You could say that it's built to similar principles to Ethereum. However, it's really focused on solving the problems around decentralized identity and data. So, the rationale behind building on, or incorporating Ontology, is that it gives you a secure data and ID solution in a decentralized way. With the recent movement towards Web3 and the Metaverse, this is increasingly important. In the coming months we should also see the launch of the EVM. This basically means it's easy to port dApps from Ethereum to Ontology. Doing so allows developers to take advantage of a cheap and secure public Blockchain. But, perhaps more importantly, be able to incorporate those ID and data solutions into their project. Hopefully, that helps.
Thank you Atherton, really helpful answer.
