Yeah the cost of living does really matter. I mean

why can't government spend more on education and don't put so much money on military spending?
I get american leftists when they say that education should be free (paid by government). I mean going to adult life with big debt is basically slavery.

Yeah, but owning a tank isn't necessary in that circumstances. In 21 century big war is unreal among major countries because of nuclear weapons, So it's like Iraq/Syria/Afghanistan type of wars, where you basically supply weapons to one side of the conflict. I mean 2T$ would serve way more better if they would spend otherwise.
