What is the reason why my voting power in Frax

governance sometimes changes from vote to vote, even though I vote at the same time on various proposals?

The voting power is based on the snapshot of the block # each vote begins at. That's how snapshot.page works. When a proposal is created, every voter's FXS+veFXS+FRAX-FXS LP amount is used at that block height for their voting power. Since veFXS balance is always decaying that means your vote count is always changing even if you have a constant supply of FXS in your wallet.

Thanks Sam! So that's why even though proposals end at about the same time - the snapshot can still be taken a different times. But why do some proposals have a longer voting period than others? - I'm guessing it is up to the author? I guess my follow up question is then why not have a fixed period for voting in?

It's just dependent on the author yes. The minimum required time is 72 hours per governance rules from FIP-1. But it can be as long as desired technically I guess. But can't be shorter than 72 hours. Generally we try to be open and decentralized for anyone that wants to propose new gov actions and votes. Just that at minimum it reach quorum+72 hours.
