Question to the team, just trying to compare v1 vs

v2 am i missing something?
Free deposit vs 80-100 dollars on v2
Free opening and closing position vs 4-7 dollars on v2
Free withdrawal vs 80-100 dollars on v2
Plus for v1
Funding payments more clear, paid every hour

what point to do it so quick? v2 UI is very buggy, slow to update price and recent trades

I've had that thought too. And especially funding, I found you have to interact with the contract to get anything to come up

And yeah Xdai is super cheap, would of been great if free deposits and withdrawals option was still a thing without bridge etc. At least until v2 starts introducing new pairs. I know loads of people that used v1 and was really annoyed with that decision

1. For v2 deposit depends on which bridge you're using. You can use as low as 5 -$10 depending on where you're bridging from. 2. For v1 you pay gas in xdai to open and close a position(insanely low, you won't even notice) ....v2 yeah around 3-$5 3. v2 withdrawal also depends on where you're bridging to 4. V2 funding is paid per block. See details; https://v2docs.perp.fi/for-traders/funding-payments

There are plans to move wherever Uniswap v3 moves. So we might have a polygon integration, things should be a lot easier then. If Optimism is able to work on more partnerships and liquidity, it will be easy and cheap to move funds.

Main reason for v2 vs v1 is fundamental flaws in v1 (since there are no liquidity providers in v1, funding is often paid by insurance fund, so there is high risk of depleting insurance fund, along with the other problems). So basically v1 is not sustainable and at some point can run out of insurance fund and halt. v2 solves all the problems of v1, makes it possible to actually generate profit for the protocol, which can be shared with stakers, and generally is sustainable in the long run. This comes at the expense of having to find liquidity providers, more complex system and reliance on uniswap3, so xdai is no longer an option because there is no uniswap3 there. However, perp v2 will soon come to polygon, which also has very low fees comparable with xdai, so these problems should be solved more or less quite soon.
