Imagine going to a computer store to buy a new

computer. You're offered a super-fast computer that was just released, but it can't run anything that exists today: applications, libraries, tools, operating systems, compilers, interpreters - you name it.

It only runs it own type of machine code. The salesperson tries to persuade you: "New software can be developed from the ground up for it!" Would you buy?

Ethereum smart contracts are like this computer, except they’re also super slow. Scalability solutions are poised to break smart contract processing constraints, but without also addressing the lack of a large, mature, and battle-tested ecosystem, their usefulness is limited.
