to access cross-chain liquidity? (3/3/2022)
[Victor - CEO] No in the near future, cross-chain liquidity is for sure a feature that requires more than just a tech and we are trying to figure out a feasible solution. A few have been proposed but all of them come with either scalability or security problem. We are eyeing toward a tech that scalable, less decentralized but transparent, auditable. Tltr - No concrete plan or timeline. (3/3/2022)
> All other L2 are trying to onboard as many projects as possible but seems like ZKyber is not taking that path. Is there any reason behind it? (3/3/2022)
[Victor - CEO] Right, we are not taking that part because we have no interest of being a general framework (at least not now) or a general L2 where many different protocols can be deployed there. We think we have better chance to make an application focused L2 for its use-case than a general solution because we care about UX the most. Of course capital efficiency will be a problem (eg. yielding when you can use the same capital for multiple usages) and it is the main reason for us to tune the product even more to go production. > Is Kyber team working on any technology which makes single project in a separate L2 self sufficient to provide liquidity?
[Victor - CEO] We are not aiming to make a general L2 blockchain, hence single project seems a wrong concept here with the L2 we are working on. More relevant question would be “is it sufficient for a market maker (liquidity provider) to provide liquidity there?”. The answer is Yes, we believe if the solution highly scalable, fast and people are protected from being front-run (fairness), it makes a fundamental foundation for the community to form an exchange market there where not only retails but processional can safely and fairly deploy their trading strategies there.
Thanks! not only for lazy clickers but also for further discussion it is helpful i guess. i have following follow up queries . 1. i understand that zkyber is not general purpose l2. But, what i couldn't understand is, why can't other other dexs in zkyber? i think that will help liquidity problem if liquidity is not an issue then may be we don't need other dex but dumb me can't think how it can be solved in scalable way with other dex. 2. currently zkyber is liquidity aggregator. How is possible to execute aggregator function in zkyber without other dex? 3. liquidity incentivized by token reward is kind of already proven that it's not sustainable solution. Are you guys working on anything better than dex 1.0?
for further discussion, you can comment on notion page as well but i will answer you here and keep recording on notion this time
