I have a semi-noob question, we've been seeing exchanges and

3rd party wallet companies start to impose sanctions on the Russkies (e.g. metamask was insinuating the possibility, indirectly)

Now technically, there's no way to implement such sanctions (I'm assuming they're using the IP address?) at the native wallet level, like if a Russian person were using one of the official ZEC wallets on their computer?

There might even be a risk in the case of a mobile wallet downloaded via google play or iphone app store, but let's say they go full safu and install the wallet directly on their pc (or if there's an apk for the phone maybe) - as I understand, blocking a native ZEC wallet would be equivalent to compromising on an integral part of the ZEC blockchain infrastructure, and as such probably isn't even possible right? Like, even if it were possible it would have to be approved by Zooko himself? 🙃

The only reliable way to do it would be on kyc wallets

Nighthawk Wallet has taken care of this by publishing via F-droid. If your ISP is blocking access, as long as you can connect to a lightwalletd server via VPN/tor, all is good.

Thanks, that's good to know although I mainly had in mind beginner-friendly options. looks like sovereign private money's gonna have a learning curve 😅
