the author doesn't know "what's taking so long" and comments about how hard it is to find out lol. His anonymous source gives some good hints about it though. See, I'd be curious to see some elaboration, maybe a timeline for these things. Like, when did they switch to Rust and how much time did it cost them? Same thing for PARSEC to CRDTs and all the various novel design features. If somebody could see they blew a couple years on this and a couple on that and it all just added up, the community might be more sympathetic about the setbacks.

We are all here for a working end product. Optimists embrace that when the tools and knowledge is there, safe network can actually achieve this properly and not some half-baked promise like other projects.
