They should have earned over 40 million hbars in up front staking fees...so that does raise a question about where all of that is (none of our business really...that is their private income...but it allows the short strategy laid out above)
No. There are no up front staking fees. They get paid 10% of the reward as it gets deposited into the pool daily.
That's an up front fee...they've already received it for all hbar currently staked
On the day before day 1 the total HBAR staked was 0. So Stader had received 0 in payment. On day 1 there were X HBARs staked. The reward was 200k HBAR deposited into the pool. Stader got 20k HBAR. On day 2 there was Y staked and Stader earned another 20k. And so on. No up front millions of HBAR.
Yes but the emissions schedule was structured to get stake up to 400 million quickly and was accomplished within a couple weeks
Right so they started making 20k HBAR a day then 30k a day on up to them earning ~ 67k HBAR per day currently.
Foundation is only giving 50M Hbar to the pool so where the 40M comes from?, the 10% out of 50M is 5M fee, is that not correct?
This is correct . Stader will earn 5 million HBAR between launch and June 30th regardless of how many HBAR get staked.
That is fair compensation in my view
I misread earlier message...jeeptodown argument is that even if Stader only gets the 5 million fee when all emissions complete they will have some advantage in keeping a large staked pool that they can stake to Hedera official staking...but then the rewards will be so small that I don't see what they will get out of it
I see replies too now after I posted.
