My biggest complaint so far in all of this, is

that for 2 years neutrino has been in operation the team puts forth ideas that appears on the surface to be counterproductive. Why not have some members of the team also in this chat to see what we the community sees? Neutrinos strengths, weaknesses as well as suggestions for how to go about implementing a good proposal the community would initially support and get behind?

This proposal I feel if it went for a vote today would not pass, and the team would be back to square one and having to draw up a new one this time with community input. Or even discuss Passive-But-Massive 🌊 (1 ➝ 2) and @WolvhLorien proposals and provide input from the developers perspective on why things may or may not work.

All of this frustration is because the lack of communication.

Why is there a need for a middleman here?

Well you definitely need mods. You can't expect busy devs to have to moderate the chat and develop the product with constant scammers, and community members bickering with one another. :)
