Hello! do I understand this correctly? Phala can not host

dApps on its own (with smartcontracts etc)? like for example lets say I want to build a chat dApp on top of Phala - it would not be possible?

Of course you can, but you need to deploy through FatContract, so you need to check the codebase before start coding your own smart contract, because FatContract is derived from ink! developed by Parity Technologies.
