Not a big difference I believe, if you stake directly with convex youll still get their boost but you wont be able to stake directly in the gauge solo

Convex uses it's vefxs to boost your position (can currently go up to 2x) but we take a fee Staking directly on frax means you use your own vefxs to boost yourself

Apologies for the confusion When you claim in the Frax UI, it should prompt for two transactions: CVX/CRV from here: https://etherscan.io/address/0x7287488f8df7dddc5f373142d4827aaf92aac845 FXS from here: https://etherscan.io/address/0x0a08673e3d7c454e1c6b27acd059c50df6727fc9 However, it does not list the CRV/CVX amounts in the UI currently, so we'll get that added in too.
