This is a misunderstanding. The gauges always worked like this. If you lock your LP for 1 month, after 1 month, your lock boost goes to 0 since you are able to withdraw your LP and it's no longer locked. It has always been like this. The new "lock longer" function is not a "new feature" that we had to vote in. We actually improved the contract for gas efficiency. The lock boost already goes to 0 when your lock expires and you can withdraw. We simply added in the ability to lock longer without withdrawing the entire LP and locking again for a new time period. It's not a new feature that needed a governance vote, it's actually an improvement and gas saving feature for something that existed in all the gauges from day 1. 🙂

To confirm, time boost doesn't decay over time but switches from the boost factor got when locking to 0 upon unlocking?

We will have an announcement later today. That one and the pitchFXS one have an underemission issue. We will probably unlock and redeploy. The issue was introduced when we added a feature that decays the time boost as it nears expiry (and also lowered the max lock time from 3 years to 1 year).
