technology"?
Few days ago y chatted with a friend I have not met since 2005, he strongly believes crypto are ponzi and by no means they can ever be money...
"Coins are issued by an institution that has the trust to keep the supply steady and adapted. And managed by banks whose lending is kept under control by an instutition."
"Coins are guaranteed by governments and protected by systems. Gold is not a useful coin anymore."
He gave you an explanation about currencies, not about money. Probably time for you to provide him with data about that distinction 😊.
Thanks a lot for these reactions, and sorry for having listened to them only now 😊. A possible approach to your friend's misconception around money and currencies (although it's a never-ending debate, and there are so many starting points around what is "money") is the fact that autonomous cryptos like BTC and XMR are REAL assets: they haven't been created by the generation of debt, and provide the world with new wealth, whereas all currencies are zero-sum assets, their very creation entails the creation of a debt for the exact same monetary value.
Thanks, not bad, you have me an idea or two 😆
No he's just a toxic maxi
