So when will we know what APR for native staking?

I think we’ll need to give the Governing Council at least a couple of weeks to make a decision on that. As part of Phase 2 they’ll want to see which 3rd party wallets and exchanges add the functionality for native staking and then look at how much of the current circulating supply actually gets staked. Once they see that, it’s easier for them to decide on a rewards rate. I think the one interesting result we’ll see from this is that it will be a net win for the Hedera focused wallets like Hashpack and Wallawallet (and deservedly so). They have taken the initiative and rolled out staking functionality immediately. Hence, I think we will see people migrate their HBAR holdings from exchanges and multi currency wallets instead of waiting for these other wallet providers to catch up. I just staked my Hashpack Account ID today and it was super easy. I also moved any tokens I had on Binance US into my Hashpack account😁 My guess that others will make similar decisions if we don’t see the exchanges adding the functionality in the next week or two.

D’CENT hard wallet holds Hbar and HbarX , so I’m assuming no issues with native staking on there as well. Hopefully. ;)

You stake account ID and not wallet. As long as your account have Hbar in you will be fine whatever method you use to access account. You can always access via wallet that has option to trigger staking and delete it after, if you more happy with wallet that does not offer it. The Acoer explorer shows if account has staked (and to what node) or not, as the info has to be publicly available.

Native staking is not supported through ledger and I think I saw it’s not yet supported through D’cent either. I’m sure about ledger, not positive about D’cent.

Even so, Hashpack explicity said that you can stake but they will not support using Ledger. I have no clue as to why this is since it makes no sense but that is what the consensus is to date. We have to wait to login to Hashpack with staking. I think if you try to access an account using Ledger the staking menu does not show up. I will try to access Hashpack using my ledger account and see if it works.
