US employees have no rights GVlc44 @ New I came here from

Europe. I was young, ambitious and willing to grow professionally, wanted to work for big tech.

What I realized over these past years is that US employees have no rights.

People are being used and abused left and right. I get meetings at 7 am, 8 am, 7 pm , 10 pm.
Not talking about any specific employer. This have been happening to me in all companies that I worked for.

Employers do not respect your personal time!

Paid overtimes? What? what have you said? GTFO!

Overnight release support? Yeah, you’re going to do it for FREE! Oh, you’re not happy with it? GTFO!

Someone might mention: But you’re getting performance bonuses.

Oh yeah, europeans are getting them too. Plus overtimes!

And here in California, they might tell you to GTFO any day any time! Without any mandatory severance!

People cannot be kicked out that way in Europe! They’re protected.

I feel like I have no voice and no rights here.
