I would think they could lay off 90% of their developers to conserve cash, no?
Well that isn't all they are doing but it is the most public facing work they are doing. There is still the work on celer IM and Layer2Finance going on.
Expanding partnerships is crucial to the uptake and success of their project. Why would they lay off 90% of their developers? Devs are the core engine that help build products and help execute the vision. Many people thought similar about Hashicorp and Gitlab several years ago, it took years for people to finally realized how influential they become
It takes $$$$, lots of f’n dollars to pay these developers, unless there is a money tree at Celer Inc I doubt these developers want to be paid in tokens. Maybe you would like to explain where the cash flow to pay of all of these developers will come from…
I don't know the financial or cash flow situation of Celer. But as with any start ups, you get funding to build. As mentioned in prev msg, Hashicorp built their products 'free' for years, it wasn't until they reached critical popularity that they started to monetize their offerings. However, based on what publicly available info, SGN is now generating income through fees. And they have funding from Consensus Lab, IOSG etc to bootstrap their project. And Celer is also one of several projects that received further funds from Binance end of last year as well
