Hey Sigmanauts, I’ve been thinking about the sigmanaut thing for

a few weeks now. I started chatting with my friend sigmanaut @dadreboi yesterday (in gulag if you want to see) and today decided to re-apply to the program, because I thought it would be easier to make my ideas heard from within.

Anyway we think it’s a good idea if I bring it up here first I guess. He says he doesn’t know how you guys would vote for me to come back 😂

So my concerns are with transparency and acceptance of new candidates. In the very first meeting I attended, one of the main topics was how the EF is viewed as an ivory tower, and how people, specifically @AngieHar were “unknown” or seen as only delegating tasks and not involved with the community.

This didn’t sit right with me, and took me a while to process, but now I think the sigs are trying to become just that. A second ivory tower. Even trying to figure out who the sigmanauts are is harder than looking up EF members.

I think the votes, notes, and meetings could be open to anyone who cares.

Let me put it this way, why the fuck would anyone want to read the notes or listen to the meetings? Do you know how boring that is if you don’t kinda care? It would maybe make someone who’s curious more incvolved and maybe join. What’s the big deal of people see / hear it???

<Sisyphuspush> Apprciate your input and initiative to reapply. Keep in mind the group is fairly young and has been somewhat informal until somewhat recently. The weekly meetings we have been having recently have focused a lot on structure and growing the program into a more formal tool for the ecosystem. I also wouldn't get too discouraged with "what-is" and see it more of an opportunity to contribute to what is being built, as it is needed and wanted st this time. As for Ivory Tower concerns, I think the discussions that have been had and the work that is and has been done thus far would show thats not the case, but am happy to discuss any specific concerns that gives that impression.
