If everyone starts using it, yes. LOL. But, seriously, right now crypto is still somewhat of a game. Most people see it as a slot machine. Maybe we should call this moment in time the 'currency wars'. LOL. If governments do away with fiat, and crypto is globally adopted, the existence and maintenance of Monero, and others like it, will become a very important thing, imo.
I have doubts when it comes to mass adoption for Monero (and many others projects as well). With Monero, the UX isn't all that great for those who are tech illiterate. Get someone who's 65 to go buy Monero without mentioning where to go and how to do it, PLUS, tell them to secure it in their very own wallet. It's very unlikely they'll be successful. They sure now how to use a credit/debit card, or go to an ATM and get money out of it, though.
I think I mentioned that earlier, tbh. I'm right now trying to figure out how to use it to do money transfers and bypass Wise. :/. The drawback is that I have to figure out how to do it simply. Which is the trick. However, right now, just the fact that exists is important. Having good frameworks for use that don't break the exact principle that makes it what it is - well, that's a different challenge. I mean, like I said - Linux neckbeards have their point, but most people don't want to live in a shack in the middle of nowhere. :/.
