For a first time staker do you still get rewards

for the first 30 days even though you don’t receive them? Or do you literally get no rewards at all?

All prizes distrubiting after 30 days. So its not 30 days no rewards, its just a delay. Your first reward will distrubite after 30 days.

To add up, essentially that period of no rewards for 2 epochs is rather neutralized in case your balance goes to 0 any time, you will get 2 epoch worth of rewards with 0 balance.

No. As Contau said, everything comes 2 epochs later. So after 30 days you will get the first epoch reward. When everything is done and you withrow all balance from your wallet, you will be rewarded for 2 epochs for +30 days.

Okay makes sense. So I’m basically delayed my rewards by 30 days, but when I eventually send my full balance out of my wallet then I will be given the additional 30 days which I did not receive?

Think like this, every epoch's end, your balance is recorded to the chain and your staking balance is updated 2 epochs later. Hence, when you first start staking, despite your balance being more, your staking balance will be 0. Let's say, after epoch ends, you add some balance. Then, this balance is again added to the staking balance after 2 epoch delay. Hence, the first reward you will get will be based on your balance 2 epochs before, same applies for all rewards

Right but if I start staking now then am I still earning rewards? I will still get these rewards but they are just delayed?

For the first two epochs, you won't, since your staking balance will be 0 when you first start staking. However, this is kinda neutralized if you withdraw all your balance, you will get 2 epoch worth of rewards

Oh okay I think I understand. So if I eventually withdraw my full balance from the wallet then I will be given my full balance plus rewards plus rewards for 2 epochs which I didn’t receive at the beginning?

Kinda yes, but keep this in mind, the first reward you get will be for single epoch, the third epoch you stayed staking in the system. When you withdraw, you will get your rewards based on your balance 2 epochs ago
