Google can serve as a GC for 2 consecutive terms

of 3 years. Means total 6 years. 3 out of 6 has passed already. After 2026, why would google relies on Hedera's services in their products if they can build something like Hedera with some million dollars ?

Points to be noted, imo. 😁

Yes. But you are missing the entire point of decentralisation - it cannot be owned by Google or IBM, that defeats the entire purpose. So what Google would have to do is build the council, the Tokenomics , the community all over again - to achieve ??? Little to nothing more than they have right now. They will never do it! And yes. They may use Hashgraph for a private DLT, but that is of no consequence to Hedera. In fact it’s a benefit as more people know/ understand the tech. So the tech is great. But it’s a LONG way from there to replacing it even competing with Hedera.

The whole point of a private ledger is that you can’t trust it 100%. Private ledgers is nothing other than spreadsheets they use today. Because Hedera hashgraph is a public ledger and also decentralized, it CAN be trusted. Yes, hedera is only decentralized by industry and geography at this time, but the next step is permissioned public nodes and after that permisonless public nodes. Then the hashgraph will be 100% decentralized. But I am very happy that hedera takes it slow. In my opinion it is better to start a small DAO like decentralized governance like it is right now because it is still a big cowboy environment. And I trust the big companies and universities a lot more right now than the crypto public as it is at this moment 😉 Just chill out and accumulate. the ride will come

Some may not like to hear this, but there is a non-zero chance that truly permissionless anonymous nodes may never be a thing with Hedera. Can it really be decentralized if a central entity is managing the codebase? Perhaps depends on your definitions, permissionless /=/ anonymous. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, happily KYC to run a node.

There are central entities managing the code base if BTC and all the crypto projects. Hedera's is completey transparent and decentralized over the planet and industry. The HIP process is also completely transparent.

Rather have large corporates from regulated sectors running nodes than a bunch of 20/30 something whales who nobody knows and got rich through investing in crypto years ago. This permissionless nonsense is a fallacy. A few independent whales are not on your side pal. Unless you are one of them. I would trust Google, IBM or Dell to run a fairer system than a few self serving individuals who could easily manipulate price to their advantage.
