[ @liquid_phase ] everyone i talk to crypto about in the real world, when they ask me 'how its doing' while trying to hide some shit eating grin as if they know i've chosen some sinking ship, i always tell them the same thing: 'Don't invest your money, invest your time and effort and really try to figure out the good from the bad and the wheat from the chaff. There are great projects out there doing never before seen things with communications technology but with any new industry comes growing pains and greedy actors trying to take the whole cake.'
[ @cafebedouin ] Not impossible.
Wise words. Just tell them is crypto winter anyways and end the convo
[ @cafebedouin ] Try: "I think I'm up about 4x." Then, give them the grin right back.
well that's the crux of the issue, too many people looking at it as ONLY an investment tool and not a fucking GLOBAL FINANCIAL SYSTEM renaissance.
I'm starting to wonder if converting most of my erg to bonds was more big brain than I thought
This right here. I'll give you an example of how crypto is already there. I was withdrawing local currency from an ATM in a third world country. The exchange rate the local banks give at the ATM is 5%-10% below the actual market exchange rate. If you have USD cash there are locals that offer an exchange rate ~5% above the market value. BUT if you have USDT locals will offer you ~10% above the market value. So just by using USDT you can make your money go 20% farther.
