Long term network sustainability. Can’t maintain giving away so much more than you are taking in. This has always been the plan - you’ll see it in the original white paper. Having said that…I understand the why, but I would have appreciated a gradual step down over weeks or months rather than a hard turn. End of the day it’s the same result.
