I don't think so Ricky...to be honest there are lots of examples of bridging between chains...moving from one to another. Alot of swap technology utilises the principles. Sadly I don't think it's anything of note from that point of view...but of huge importance to Electroneums future.

Nah not at all. But its a very welcome change...moving off Cryptonight to something more mainstream, modern and flexible will be a huge boon for the project. Near instant on chain transactions, interoperability with other systems and chains, smart contracts, 1 block finality, easier to integrate on exchanges and hardware wallets...the list goes on and on. Not to mention a bigger pool of talent to hire from (the XMR forked code base is far harder to recruit for than something based on GO-ETH). A big leap, but a well needed one.
