How about sin taxes. I could take the alcoholic's money

away, and force him to ferment his own booze from furniture because that's all he can afford.

But what if I put the mom and pop liqueur store out of business and force their kids to get jobs instead of going to school?

How can I reach my hand into other people's affairs like this and hope to do good?

I do not agree. Making a personal supply of moonshine is completely trivial. I would say it was about 30% as hard as building a computer from off the shelf parts and no custom designs. Or assembling ikea furniture.

You've never fermented. Yeah, making something that tastes like gasoline is easy. Try making something good. It can take years to get right.
