Theoretically, async backing can make things up to 12x faster. blocks will occur twice as often (from 12s to 6s), and the lead time it introduces means blocks could become 6x fuller. in the long term, parachains will be able to purchase more cores when congested, allowing them to process more txs. BridgeHub will be a game changer for the ecosystem, benefiting it as a whole. with it, we'll be able to bridge assets between Kusama <> Polkadot parachains.

hey Dylan, tps is a metric that's challenging to measure accurately. every tx is unique, a simple transfer is a different kind of tx from a complex smart contract execution that requires a significant gas limit. consequently, it's difficult to quantify. I'm not aware of any specific formula to calculate it. what I can say is that there are plans for things to become 8 times faster with async backing, and I've heard that parachains are expected to achieve 1000 tps, but the precise method of measurement is still uncertain
